Firewall Management

Description

Black Box provides Firewall Management services for installing and maintaining three types of firewalls: 1) External Firewall, 2) Internal Firewall, and 3) Remote Sites Firewall.

External Firewall: blocks all incoming and outgoing internet traffic, where firewall rules are written and enabled to allow certain types of network traffic, such as websites and e-mails, to pass through the firewall itself. Only network traffic that satisfies one of the enabled rules will be allowed in from or out to the internet.
Internal Firewall: blocks all incoming and outgoing network traffic between entities or departments within your organization’s intranet, where firewall rules are written and enabled to allow certain types of network traffic between said entities and departments.
Remote Sites Firewall: blocks all incoming internet traffic while allowing outgoing internet traffic to pass through directly.

Why It’s Valuable and How It’s Beneficial

The key benefit and value of a firewall is its ability to understand and actively filter and manage access to applications and protocols, even down to who is attempting to access them and from where. Firewalls allows businesses and organizations to enjoy all of the benefits of iron-clad security, without having to suffer any of the consequences or loss of access or functionality to legitimate users, and approved access to applications and protocols.

    1. Installation and configuration of firewall within organization’s infrastructure
    2. Definition and integration of firewall rules
  2. Software Verification and Validation Report (SVVR): A report containing the results of the verification and validation testing, which provides a full breakdown of the verified correctness and completion of all core requirements within corresponding specification and design documentation.

How Much It Will Cost

The cost of our Firewall Management service is determined based on your deadlines and expectations, and the amount of time and effort necessary to provide the deliverables guaranteed by our service level expectations.

How We Will Work Together

All research materials, information, and documentation will be maintained, compiled, and stored by Programming and Application Services, and directly accessible over secure channels or through Black Box secure systems. Private Black Box accounts are created and assigned to our clients as soon as work begins, providing them with limited access to information and documentation related to ongoing design and development requiring client feedback or input.

Additional statistical information may also be maintained and used to generate reports tracking a firewall’s effectiveness in protecting machines and defending against vulnerability and exploit penetration attempts.
